HPC & AI Senior Sales Specialist

Job Definition.

The HPC & AI Senior Sales Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across the APAC region by identifying high-value opportunities within the research, academic, and enterprise sectors. You will lead the entire sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting and pipeline development to the negotiation of complex service contracts. By building consultative relationships with C-suite executives and technical leads, you will uncover specific challenges in compute-intensive fields and position specialized consulting, optimization, and managed services as the primary solution for their computational needs. You will be part of a highly talented team that continuously helps institutions to accelerate their research, discovery and innovation to build a better world.

 

In this role, you will act as a strategic bridge between client requirements and internal technical teams, coordinating with engineers and computational scientists to design bespoke HPC and AI architectures. You are expected to leverage a deep understanding of the global competitive landscape and technology partner ecosystems to craft compelling, value-driven proposals. Beyond individual sales targets, you will represent the organization at major industry events and trade shows across Asia-Pacific, establishing the brand as a premier partner for organizations navigating the convergence of HPC, AI and Quantum Computing.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Identify, qualify, and close high-value sales opportunities for HPC and AI services across the APAC region, meeting or exceeding annual targets.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through active prospecting, lead generation, and strategic networking within the research, academic, and enterprise sectors.
  • Regional Market Strategy: Collaborate with the global marketing and sales team to develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market plan tailored to the unique economic and technical landscapes of diverse APAC territories.

 

Consultative Sales & Relationship Management

  • C-Suite Engagement: Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including CTOs, Research Directors, and IT Heads.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions to understand client pain points in data-intensive fields like life sciences, manufacturing, and finance.
  • Value Proposition: Articulate the business value of specialized consulting, optimization, and managed services over hardware-only solutions.

 

Technical Collaboration & Solution Design

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the bridge between clients and internal technical teams, coordinating with HPC engineers and data scientists to design bespoke solution architectures.
  • Proposal Engineering: Lead the creation of complex technical proposals, RFPs, and statements of work (SOW) that align technical requirements with measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner Ecosystem Integration: Leverage relationships with global technology partners (e.g., hardware & software vendors, hyperscalers) to enhance the service offering and co-sell where appropriate.

Market Presence & Reporting

  • Industry Advocacy: Represent the company at major regional trade shows and conferences to position the brand as a thought leader in the HPC/AI/QC convergence.
  • Sales Forecasting: Maintain accurate CRM data and provide regular reports on market trends, competitive intelligence, and regional sales performance.
  • Contract Negotiation: Manage the end-to-end negotiation process, ensuring favorable terms for complex, multi-year service agreements.

Skills and Experience.

Essential skills

  • Team spirit.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of the HPC and AI APAC market.
  • Advanced customer portfolio and good reputation in the HPC and AI APAC region.
  • Strong focus on results, performance and client satisfaction.
  • Solution design skills for tailored HPC and AI solutions.
  • Proactivity and strong communication skills.
  • Exceptional skills in C-level engagement, capable of navigating complex technical discussions and negotiating favorable contract terms.
  • Technical knowledge on HPC and AI solutions, and experience in building awareness of new technologies for our clients.
  • Proven track record in sales management of service companies in the HPC/AI industry.
  • Proficiency in accurate revenue forecasting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computational Science, Computational Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Eligible to live and/or work in New Zealand or Australia
  • Excellent oral and written English skills.
