Senior Linux System Admin.

Job Definition.

Do IT Now is looking for a Senior Linux System Administrator to join our team.
The successful candidate will work on projects involving the installation, configuration, and maintenance of HPC systems on GNU/Linux distributions.
The candidate must also be able to design and configure all hardware and software components of an HPC architecture (servers, low-latency networks, storage systems, workload managers, etc.).
The candidate will collaborate with our experts to identify advanced solutions, install and configure commercial and open-source applications, analyze and improve application performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide training to users.

Skills and Experience.

Essential skills

  • Hybrid work: availability to work on-site 2–3 days per week.
  • High school degree, post-secondary course and/or a degree in technical or scientific fields
    (computer science, electronics, mathematics, etc.).
  • Excellent knowledge of English and excellent knowledge of Italian.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in the role of Linux System Administrator.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SLES, etc.).
    Preferred requirement: Linux certification.

  • Networking: Switching, VLAN, FireWalls.

  • Monitoring systems: Zabbix, Grafana.

  • Management of storage systems in heterogeneous Linux/Windows environments.

  • Administration and maintenance of remote visualization on Linux systems (VNC / VirtualGL)

  • Programming languages: Shell Script and Python

Preferential requirements.

  • Docker, Singularity, R.H. Container.

  • Parallel File System: Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, CEPH, etc.

  • HPC Schedulers: PBS, LSF, SLURM, etc.

  • Storage management and maintenance: DDN, NetApp, Isilon, Qumulo.

  • Basic knowledge of major relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)

  • Deployment tools: Xcat, Bright Cluster Manager.

  • Knowledge of DELL, HP, or Lenovo server platforms and engineering Linux-based solutions on these platforms.
