HPC Storage Expert

Job Definition.

Do IT Now is seeking a passionate and proactive HPC Storage Expert to join our team. Job functions include teaming with HPC support staff to answer user questions and solve technical problems by telephone, email, and onsite.

Tasks include interactive issue troubleshooting, following client issues through to resolution, documenting resolutions in a knowledge base, working with application and system owners or supporters to identify advanced solutions, installing and configuring applications, and studying and improving the application’s performance.

You will also be involved in application deployment, configuration, and performance tuning to meet the demanding requirements of HPC and AI workloads.

In addition, you will collaborate closely with leading hardware-edge vendors and major cloud providers to design and implement intelligent high-availability (HA) architectures for HPC, AI, and I/O-intensive environments.

Your work will directly influence the resilience, scalability, and efficiency of next-generation hybrid compute infrastructures for research institutions and enterprise clients alike.

Skills and Experience.

Essential skills

Experience in Linux and HPC environments.
Strong technical consulting and support skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and German.
Experience with cluster file systems like GPFS, Lustre or BeeGFS.
Experience with HA configurations for storage systems like GPFS, Lustre or BeeGFS.
Experience with benchmarking tools like IOR, mdtest, iozone.

Preferential requirements.

Experience in storage tuning.
Experience in Cluster Deployment tools like Warewulf, xCAT, BCM and others.
Experience developing technical training documentation for users.
Experience in basic configuration of networking equipment.
Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python or bash

Personal Attributes.

Eligible to live and/or work in Germany
Excellent oral and written English and German skills.
