First off, we have the written manual. This is
a guide that aims to shoot down many of the common myths of losing weight and
eating properly to avoid gaining weight.
This guide covers 10 core rules which you need to know. From manipulating your calories, carbs, fat, protein intake, eating
habits, timing of eating, preparation, accompanying drinks, mental
attitude…right through to water consumption and walking habits!
This guide's goal is to show you how to change your stale and

IMPRESSIONS
After opening the main written guide, we were
surprised at how straight and to the point the easy to read guide was.
First, they take you through these 10 rules to a
successful diet, which does'nt seem to be too overbearing or strict. They
simply point out some basic do’s and don’ts along with some very easy
habits to take on which we feel would be a breeze to accomplish. Such as
walking more, drinking more water, and going easy on some salad
dressings.
There are more detailed pieces of advice as well. Such as
how to stop seeking out certain types of foods that contrary to popular
belief don’t
actually help your weight loss goals (low fat foods etc), and why
certain exercises which people recommend you should do actually do not
burn off any fat at all
(and what you should do instead).
We also liked the segments about low carb diets being
useless in the long run and then the reasons why. This cleared up a lot
of areas for us, and also explains why so many people do not stick to
these types of programs (they are not designed for long term weight
loss).
Other useful information is found in eating out. Such as how to eat foods when dining at restaurants without destroying your
diet, and they even mention eating fast food a healthier way! Who'd of thought that was possible??
There is a lot more information ranging from water
retention (the silent weight adder), right through to the myths about
salads, honey, brown sugar, wheat bread, and all sorts of other fat
gaining foods that you are led to believe are helping when in actuality
they are really making you fatter!
Finally, there’s a useful part on alcohol
consumption (how to drink alcohol and still maintain weight loss) and a
couple of great sections on how to maintain proper eating habits throughout your busy day.
The software is also very simple to use.
It creates detailed weekly diet plans based on the Fat Loss For Idiots concepts, and what types of foods you enjoy.

DOES IT
WORK
We have seen numerous testimonials on the sales page and
even more varied stories online.
Even though we only had a short amount of time (4
weeks) to try out the product, we did see a substantial amount of
weight loss. Within those 4 weeks, our testing candidate was able to
lose 7 ½ lbs. While not quite as much as they claim can be lost in
that timeframe, we still thought that was very impressive considering how easy
going the diet is (tons of variety and allows for some delicious meals!).
Furthermore, what was very noticeable is that there was minimal exercise involved in that weight loss. Our testing
candidate followed the advice in the guide and took 2 brisk walks every
3 days. The most she walked was 5 miles in any one week.
If you don’t have time for walking, not
even a walk to your local park/shops and back, then you may experience
different results of course. Also, we think that some of her
success was due to her will power to actually work the plan given.
While this is a very easy going diet that gives
you a lot of discretion to eat different food types, you still have the
feeling that you are on some form of diet so you may still get the
resistant feeling kick in to “let it all go”.
However, unlike some of the more strict calorie
counting diets that force rabbit food down your throat all day and
night, with this you do not feel so restricted and tied down to the program.
With a little bit more effort and exercise (perhaps
the gym, a recreational sport, or even just a walk every day) she stated that she could
have easily lost an additional 6 pounds in that same timeframe.
It’s difficult to say, but at this point the results
look promising. An additional 6 months down the line will be interesting to
see how the diet lasts long term like it is supposed to. Furthurmore,
it almost seems like the weight is coming off too quickly, which is
an additional reason why we feel that sticking to this diet for more than a
couple of months could actually be bad for your health.

WHO IS IT
RIGHT FOR?
Without a doubt, anybody that has tried the low
calorie, low carb, or low fat bland diet routines and found it tough to
lose weight should pay attention to this one. While we are big on
exercise, there are no real “in your face” demands for you to go
running, swimming or anything of that nature. The facts are that this
plan
can be effective even if you only follow the meal plan and 10 key
principles
alone.
There is nothing overly complicated or expensive to deal with, which we think makes up part of this diet plan’s unique appeal.
Therefore, it’s clearly best suited to casual
dieters that don’t have the time, money or inclination to exercise all
day and night, and still want to eat “normal and everyday” foods without
feeling left out of the good stuff (especially when eating out!).
Sadly, if you’re looking for a really long term
plan then this might not be a good fit. This diet seems
specifically focused on those people who want to drop that initial bulk of fat
and body weight so that they can feel more motivated and better about
themselves enough to start/continue eating healthier foods and live a
more active and healthy lifestyle.
Equally, those who need a quick emergency plan to
lose weight before a certain occasion (think brides to be, guys going
for a medical, etc) then this is the type of plan that can be a sure winner.
The key is of course to continue the mindset,
motivation, and good general daily eating habits after the diet is over so
that you will not eventually pack it back on.
This guide does cover the longer term approach
towards the end, but keep in mind that the main focus of the Fat Loss For
Idiots guide is for short term, quick results.

BAD POINTS
While the plan clearly does work specifically in
reducing your body fat,
there are still a couple of things which we are not too keen on with Fat Loss For
Idiots on a whole…
The idea of losing large amounts of
weight too quickly might be appealing at first, but it needs to be done
cautiously due to health concerns.
Further, when losing weight so fast, it’s
just as easy to put the weight back on in the long run. Therefore, it’s
recommended that if you do buy this plan, that you have a strong
motivation to KEEP the weight off in the future…otherwise you are sort
of cheating yourself and you will destroy your self esteem and motivation
from the constant yo-yo dieting.
In terms of the diet itself, although there is now
a newer plan recently added to bring even more variety, some of the foods
can get a bit repetitive after a while.
Our observations have led us to believe that not only is
this plan best suited for short term use because of the fast weight
loss results, but also because it would become a bit tedious consuming
the same overall foods contained in the plan for a long term perspective.
Having said that, there is no reason why you can’t
mix things up a little, but obviously you need to remember that the
plans have been specifically created to increase metabolism and lower
fat intake at the simutaniously, so mixing the plans up too much may have a negative effect.

GOOD POINTS
The obvious great point with this diet is that it
actually works! Our female tester lost 7 ½ lbs in the 4 week trial period and
claimed she could have easily lost more had she put a bit more
exercise into her trial period.
Still, that’s about ½ a stone just from eating
properly! Admittedly, she reduced her alcohol intake, so if
you are a heavy drinker then you will need to exert the additional effort to cut
back where possible to see similar results.
The software makes the whole process rather mindless,
with complete weekly plans based around foods that YOU choose from a
varied menu, not what some self proclaimed expert tells you to eat.
While better cooking plans could always help, the
meals are actually very simple to whip up, and another positive point is
that they are all so easy that it actually saves you time in the kitchen also!
Yes, the meals can get a little redundant after the 4
weeks, but that should give you enough head start to see the results in the
mirror you are looking for and really get a good feeling about yourself…knowing that you
CAN lose weight without dragging the entire process out or starving
yourself!
Of course, like all diets there is a need for
you to change your habits in some way to accommodate a new mindset towards food.
But the truth is that healthy eating is much
easier than you may to think, and once you have understood the 10 rules
along with the handful of chapters on daily habits, you will soon forget
